England Ame Au Japa - no I'm not revealing where my parcel has gone. I will tell you it contains some lemon biscotti (that travels well) and I meant to include the recipe and forgot. So here it is.
150 grams plain flour
150 grams caster sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
zest of two lemons (scrub lemons if they have been waxed)
Set oven at 180C
Sift dry ingredients together
Add lemon zest
Mix in eggs (if the eggs are large you may need more flour)
Line baking tray with baking paper
Roll mixture into two logs
Bake for 20 minutes
Remove from oven and cool a little
Slice into diagonal slices and stand upright on oven tray
Bake another 10 minutes.
Serve with tea for dunking.
Or after dinner with sweet wine
