A Taste Of Yellow - Eggs
Breakfast at the Waterline Café in the tiny village of Kohukohu on the upper Hokianga Harbour . We'd spent the night in Rawene which quite frankly was a huge disappointment. We had one of our worst meals ever at the Rawene Hotel. The only other option was a takeaways shop with a menu that read greasy. Rawene also has the Boatshed Café but it is only open for lunches.
There is a car ferry that connects Rawene with Kohukohu and when you drive off the car ferry the Waterline Café is the first building on the right. It's not a big village you can't miss it. They also open for dinner on Friday evenings. What could be better than sitting on the deck over the water enjoying a morning coffee...or a glass of wine later in the day looking at this view.
Don't forget to come back on the 16th May for the Taste Of Yellow round up.

Barbara it's such a let down when hotel meals don't live up to expectation. This looks a good breakfast though and what a lovely view.

I remember an awful hotel meal that was included in the price of the hotel. When we got the bill we had to pay extra for the steak. We refused on account of it's awfulness, got the manager out and explained. They decided not to charge us.
We weren't compensated with a nice view either!

Chris - Hotel meals are always pretty awful I find. It was our only option as there was nothing else around.
Beccy - we thought about complaining but the owner was dining there also and had sent us over a liqueur so I guess we were compensated a little!

That view is gorgeous... helps to take away the sting of the bad meal. Those are the days you just sip your tea and shrug.

That breakie, looks delicious. Something the frenchies don't do so well over here.
