Happy Birthday Bron

What would an Aussie living in New Zealand give to a New Zealand blogger on her birthday?
Dan was far too busy training for the World Cup. .........and anyway Bron is happily married to a lovely man.
So Bron, here's a pav made by an Aussie with love. Have a great day.
Wow, I've never had anything like that. Looks great.

Did we ever settle that argument about who invented the pavlova?
I had grown up thinking the pav was as kiwi as a kiwi, but someone recently tried to claim them as an Aussie thing.
Who knows!

Barbara
Your pav looks excellent. Mouth is watering...I thought this sounded great...Michael Smith did a pav last night he put marmalade under the whipped cream which was flavoured with an orange liqueur.
How about that for a winter pav?

Gilli - that sounds fab.

Harvey - the story seems to be the pav was originally made and called a Meringue cake by a New Zealand woman. The recipe in an Australian magazine. The name pavlova came about when a chef at the Esplanade hotel in Perth made it for Anna Pavlova when she visited Australia.
