Support Febfast With An Alcohol Free Month
Can you go without alcohol for an entire month in support of Febfast ? FebFast raises funds to support organisations working with young people struggling with substance abuse. This initiative is based in the state of Victoria in Australia . I'd be interested to know if any other countries have a similar challenge. Wherever you are in the world it won't hurt to go without alcohol for the month of February.
Coincidentally, I was just thinking of doing this. I like the idea that I can buy a $15 leave pass which I'll only have to do for one night.

Easy! We hardly drink at all anyway, but giving up bread, cheese or chocolate would be another story entirely, hehe

I've neve heard of anything like that. A lot of people here give up for Lent but they overdo it before and after which is a bit silly.
I could (and sometimes do) do it no problem.

I've never heard of this. Quite interesting though. I hardly drink at all anyway, so it wouldn't be very hard for me. It is odd that they would pick February, with Valentine's Day and all, since many people celebrate with wine and champagne.

Bron - liar liar pants on fire ;)
Arfi - easy for you then.
dhanggit - I think it is an Australian initiative which could spread.
Beccy - I'll be having a special champagne at the end to celebrate something special.
foodie froggy - no kitchen no pie.
Anali - you can buy a day off for special events with a donation to the charity.

Does 3 days in a row late in January count. . .
Sounds like a very sensible idea.

Ed - I think so. I had my first alcohol free day today.

never heard this in Switzerland but I like the idea. I don't drink much/every day but I'm sure to know that for one month I shouldn't drink, I'll feel like wanting to...
Do you know how much they raised ??
